La Isla Río Santiago no es considerada isla IOTA por no cumplir los requisitos básicos para Referencias IOTA segun RSGB, tampoco es IWI. Aunque es una isla continental, no aplica Referencia IWI por tratarse de Isla que trabaja con marea oceanica.
Por ese motivo la actividad es denominada 4FAT/SI

La Isla Río
Santiago está a 72 Km. al sur de mi QTH, esta porción de
tierra pertenece al Municipio de Ensenada y está rodeada
por:
Río de la Plata, Río Santiago, Canal Santiago (Canal de
acceso al Puerto de La Plata), y el Canal de Acceso al
Club de Regatas (Donde se encuentra el puente elevadizo).
La Isla tiene como dimensiones, 4,22 Km. de largo por
2,36 Km. de ancho, y en ella habitan 237 personas.
Allí nos encontramos con la "Escuela Naval Militar Río
Santiago", el Apostadero Naval de la Armada Argentina, y
luego de recorrer un sinuoso y estrecho camino, llegamos
a un estacionamiento donde debemos dejar el automóvil y
seguir unos 400 mts. de a pie por senderos que nos
llevan hasta el edificio de la "Prefectura
Argentina",Llegando así a la punta sur de la Isla.
Rio Santiago Island is 72 miles south of my QTH, this
portion of land belongs to the Municipality of Ensenada
and is surrounded by:
Rio de la Plata, Rio Santiago, Santiago Canal (Canal
access to the Port of La Plata) and the Access Canal
Yacht Club (Where is the drawbridge).
The Island has as dimensions, 4.22 km long by 2.36 km
wide, and 237 people live there.
There we met with the "Río Santiago Naval Academy", the
Naval Argentina Navy, and after traveling a winding,
narrow road, we reached a parking lot where we leave the
car and drive for about 400 mts. of walking trails that
lead to the building of the "Prefecture Argentina".
Thus arriving at the southern tip of the island.

Dante, con la compañía de Maximiliano (cebador de mate
oficial), quien nos ayudará en los quehaceres de la
activación.

La Activación
está programada para los días 15 y 16 de Abril de 2011,
pero podría extenderse un par de días más en el próximo
fin de semana, segun disponibilidad de tiempo.
Activation is scheduled for 15 and April 16, 2011,

depending on availability of time.
